The temperatures in southern MD have been crazy, also. So it's the weather driving us crazy now. I sure hope that you get clarification on your Social Security.

At least there's COLA!

At age 85, Social Security beneficiaries receive their highest possible, inflation-adjusted payments, often averaging around $2,202 per month depending on lifetime earnings and claiming age. Benefits continue at this age, and payments are not reduced by work earnings. Cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) continue to apply, increasing the benefit to keep pace with inflation.

Good Evening

Taps, I had no idea SS increases stop when a person turns 85.  Somehow, that does not seem fair to me.  Life does not end at 85, and the cost of living continues to go up.  They sincerely need to change this glitch in the system.

Re:

Well I had a letter from the Inland revenue .You do not need to send another Tax Form. I would have sent my scalp for that.🦋

I will be thrilled when the temperatures settle into spring.

I had no idea that the social security increases stopped after a person turns 85. That is scary when you consider that inflation never stops. This might explain why I am seeing more people in their after-retirement years working at Walmart as door greeters. As for Easter, we used to go all out with dying eggs, egg hunts, and making up big, beautiful baskets for the kids and grandkids. It has been a few years since we have done any of those things. I do still make a ham, potatoes in some form, roasted asparagus, dinner rolls, and dessert for our Easter Sunday dinner. By Easter, the weather should be nice, so an outdoor meal could quite possibly be in the cards.
