Re: Re: Re:

I think my problem in writing another line is that I see it as a Ballad Structure: A,B,C,B., with a line break after the word  “daffodils” and the comma.  🙃

A young girl stands, one of a future race.

Sadly I see a red sky and the crumbling stone

A young girl stands, one of a future race.

Over the land the cold winds have blown

She wraps a protective cloth around her face.

She is a dreamer she has read of this time and now

she wants to feel the beauty as the endless winds blow

the sky is a dull red and she wonders if somehow.

  flowers appeared to glow

A tear forms ,were there days filled with beauty always?

Somethings that one could remember perfectly.

Perhaps it was in those fleeting days.

She stirs the dust  almost reverently.

Good Morning

Sea Gypsy, I had no idea there was a World Poetry Day!  Thank you for sharing this poem and the picture.  I used to write a lot of poetry, but now I write short stories.  My very favorite poetry is romantic, but I like fun poetry too.  I think my "Tommy the Turkey" poem is my favorite poem of all time.  I always share it on Thanksgiving.  It's about a turkey in love.  I hope you have a good week.

Re: Oh how I love poetry....

You mom and my mom were exceptional I. This respect. My mom could recite “The Raven” probably verbatim. It’s a gift they had, for sure.

Oh how I love poetry....

.....My Mom loved reading Robert Burns poetry out loud to us, and boy could she do it up right with the brogue and the feeling and she was so cute,  "Wee, sleekit, cowrin, tim'rous beastie, O, what a panic's in thy breastie!"   I can see and hear her now even though Edgar Allen Poe is calling "Quoth the raven nevermore."
