I remember...will never forget, My first husband in 1985 ringing me up when I was leaving on a trip to ask me if I needed his permission to leave the country. By then a woman waiting finalization of her divorce was actually free to go whatever she wanted or could manage financially. I don't remember being very polite when I Told him No!
