Re:

Sherri, you do treat your outside friends to a smorgasbord of food.  The squirrel that came to visit us was brown.  I've not seen orange or gray squirrels here.  Enjoy the warm weather.

It sounds as though one of mine or Pat's squirrels paid you a visit. If you leave him some treats, he will more than likely hang around. Every morning, I have a group of fat bright orange and little gray squirrels show up to the buffet I provide for them. We give them seeds, corn, berries, and peanuts, and we collect walnuts and acorns from Cedar Creek Park once they have fallen to the ground. We enjoy the variety of wildlife who visit our yard. We don't even mind the skunks so long as they don't stink up the place. Enjoy the warm temperatures while you can. It appears that more cold weather is headed our way in a few days.

My daughter feeds the squirrels as well. Unfortunately the neighbor behind them traps squirrels to kill them. It makes her so sad. Her husband did speak to the neighbor but he only moved the traps from her sight. People are so cruel.

We get closer to Spring weather. I'll be thankful for all of us when the cold is gone!

Re:

Kabu, I love it!  The chipmunks would sit on your hat.  I'm not sure how we got so many chipmunks in the summer.  They are everywhere.

I do have Squirrels here, they are not very big, cute little brown ones, like in Canada. but what I miss are the chipmunks none here at all and Oh I loved them. If I was working in my garden there was always one sitting on my hat and enjoying the nuts I would feed to it.

Re:

Sea Gypsy, thank you so much.  I hope everything is going well for you.  They said on the nightly news that we should expect snow again.  It's been a long winter.  It was sunny here today, and I loved it.

Re:

CCT, I don't remember seeing squirrels running around in a long time.  It's still winter here.  I hope you have a good night.

I’m glad your weather is doing better. Enjoy your squirrels. Hope your day goes well.

I counted six squirrels running around once we never saw one in winter. The sun is more like May. It is a dog walker's paradise.🌺

Re:

Pat, there's a walnut tree on our property.  That must be where she stays.

This reads like Fluffy has made a good living in your neighborhood. Someone must have a walnut or hazelnut tree nearby.

Re:

FSI, the same thing happens to us when we have a lot of wind.  A lot of the time, our garbage can ends up in the ditch.  That's the worst.  I hope you have a good day.

I ended up with a neighbor's trash lid on my property from a bunch of wind. I have no idea who it belongs to.
