It is surprising what a Nursery Rhyme invokes. Sometimes when I first get up I sing out of tune Old Mother Hubbard. It is really to see if my hearing aid is working.🌺

I see Dick. I see Jane.  Thanks for this reminder... Old Mother Hubbard! Wow!  Dr. Seuss came out after I was a bit older and it's still a treasure!

That poor woman. Hopefully, the shoe was big enough to accommodate all of those kids. The nursery rhyme that sticks in my mind is Mother Hubbard and her bare cupboards. As for early memorable books: Dick, Jane, and Spot take me back to the first grade in Delaware, as does Dr. Seuss's, the cat in the Hat.
