Did you read The Hardy Boys? And My Friend Flicka? Kazan? Black Beauty? Anne of Green Gables? All great memories of my younger reading days - including the ones you listed here.

I read 'Lord of the Flies' when I was young, and some parts still haunt me to this day. A well written novel but, wow!

I send my grandkids a book on their birthday and Christmas. It's so important to read.

I didn't think you were bragging, exposure is everything for me!!!

I also enjoy reading.  But I also love movies. I think your imagination is multiplied when you read. There is a lot of mystery in our own interpretations of the characters in a book. Great post.

I enjoy doing both. Having a fully stocked mini library in my office, and several free libraries set up for trading books around my area, I read daily, but I also enjoy a good movie. I have been hooked on reading ever since the first grade when I read the book Dick and Jane, Go Away, Spot. Nerd smile

Good Morning

Ciel, I love this post!  I remember when I was very young; I went to the library, and as soon as I entered the door, I felt like I was home.  When I was in school, I would always ask for a ride to the library and spend hours there.  My favorite books were make-believe and mysteries.  I could sit for hours and read my stories.  I was so happy when I got my library card and was always bringing books home to read. Every summer, I would sign up for the book club and complete it before school started for the new year.  I do have friends who don't like to read, but I've never understood it.  One of my wishes for the world is that everyone knows how to read and has access to books.  My second wish for the world is to be able to help dogs and cats live a good life.  I hope you have a good day and stay warm.

Well Ciel I have not even looked at the television for six months. My brother had 250 books on Kindles.  So I expect they will see me out. 🌺

My second read, and each time I feel we have so much in common. This is a wonderful post and urges us all to continue to read.
