It's terrible when family middles in things that don't concern them. I'm excited she wants to be on her own. Kudos to your mom!

One of the main worries as one ages is falling. One day, perhaps your Mother will feel she needs the company of her own choosing. It is good to know that you are a caring person.

Your sweet mom is in great hands with you at the helm. It is wonderful to see how many different ways you have provided her with protection. Ring doorbells are extremely important to have installed for so many reasons. I have watched videos on them where porch pirates get caught in action and unwelcome visitors are scared off. I hope that my three girls are as proactive as you are when John and I hit our 80s or 90s, God willing.

Isolation is one of the biggest concerns, and it sounds like you're making sure she keeps connected, and so is she.

Blogit is just the place to express your frustrations about other relatives interfering in your Mother's life. All we older women here would heartily agree with you. She is more likely to get ill from frustration if they limit her. I am thrilled to see elderly people independent.
