I suppose over time if we look back remedies which we dismiss today probably were very effective for their time. It is like a race that never ends. .Lovely to read you again.🌺

Sea Gypsy some medicinal qualities the ant have......i read on the internet....Â
The tribal healers prepare a medicinal oil in which they dip the ants along with pure mustard oil. After a month, this concoction is used as a body oil for babies and to cure rheumatism, gout, ringworm and other diseases by the tribes. The local people also consume this to stay fit and strong.Â
The scientists of the region studied and found the ants contain valuable proteins, calcium, zinc, vitamin B 12,iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium etc, etc.... they help boost the immune system.Â
Maybe that's the reason these tribals don't need our kind of hospitals & doctors.Â
And the local guide told me that during covid the tribals benefitted by consuming the ants and the chutney made with them.....Â
Looks like a win win situation.... Wish I wasn't a strict vegetarian 😃

This is so fascinating to see. I do think I’d pass on it though. 😀 What  an adventure to experience the marketplace. Here there is an insect that is used for its red color; cochineal. It is banned is known as Natural Red #4. What is the medicinal quality the ant is supposed to impart on one?Â

I didn't see where you said whether or not you had tried eating some of it. I would be interested to know whether or not you partook of such.

Oh, I would love to visit that street market. The pottery, variety of spices, and street food had to be a treat in itself. Maybe this is why I enjoy travel so much. You never know what interesting thing you will find along your path. 😊
