I like that! The Cherokee had quite a few things right. I suppose the wonen were very tolerant since they sat on council. I have to believe the man would have to be very bad to be subjected to divorce. I liked how much they could own as well.

No attorney fees, no visit in front of a judge, and no nasty fights until the divorce is final. I think that it is one of the easiest dissolutions of marriage that I have ever heard of. It's a yes for me.

S ea sister,

I somehow feel this arrangement so different from our regular norms - in that it gave freedom to women.  Men must have then felt as accessories. It was then a great practice and honor for women to own a wigwam - a sign of being the master. It was a way of keeping away women from torture and abuse. Think, this was fair enough. 🤑👍🏼🫰🏾🖖
