In America, for decades we did not allow native-born Britishers to donate blood, platelets or plasma because of Mad Cow disease. It was relaxed a few years ago.

Re: SG

Lo , I would not think that you want to be reminded of Jabs and Hospitals. A bit thoughtless of me.. Sorry.🌺🌺

Re: Good Evening

Yes I always open indoor doors beneath the outside tap and let the tap

run slowly not too fast as we are on a meter. Though it has been exceptionally mild here.

One can see by the loads of berries everywhere.🌺

Taps

I think you are turning into a blossoming comedienne, there is a female definition, I must not be lazy and look in my big dictionary, so hang about a moment, no spot on. The worst thing is to be depressed. I once ate a box of chocolates because I had not had any breakfast. About twenty minutes later, a little old lady gave me a large glassful of Homemade Rhubarb wine, which she had heated over the open fire. I shall never forget how ill I felt twenty minutes later/🌺

Re: Sam

Such glowing responses I think you have a better imagination than I have.🌺

Medical technology has really advanced. Bloodwork is important in finding out underlying medical issues. I hope they find what is ailing you and your health is restored ASAP. I was under the weather for almost a year before having my blood drawn told the story. I had hypothyroidism. When I was a kid, my mother once teased me about shots by telling me that the doctor used a needle with a hook that was a foot long. Confused smile

Re: Pat

This was just a routine blood test. I hope it does not show I have polymyalgia.🌺

I can't donate blood - too many meds. In my young days I had a needle phobia but then I got over it when an injection of pain med washed through my body in one minute and took away the pain & pressure. Be well.

Great post of course. I had a cute comment but then I read what our Sam wrote and my reply has gone clean out of my head. It is your fault you encouraged me to stay long enough on this planet so as to get old!

Oh my goodness a bicycle pump and bent needle in the same poem. The imagery was clear as an azure sky. Lol I just adore your poems that depict life in an ordinary way until the innuendo or crafty close makes them so surreal and yet totally plausible.  (S)well done!

Chiff, Chaff

Whatever you are in for does not sound like that much fun.   My veins are so bad that now they can't even get IV needles in so  there is no used to go to the hospital anymore cause they won't do anything without IV fluids and medicine.   I'm so old that they used to use the old needles over and over again, sharpen the up to get rid of burrs and then put them through a sterilizing process that I can't even remember the name of.    ....... What was my name them....I can't remember?

Good Evening

I'm hoping you feel okay.  Going to the doctor can be quite a pain.  It's going to -12 this evening.  I'm going to leave the water dripping in the kitchen sink and open the bottom doors.  That's what they said on the news.  Let's hope it works.  The house usually feels so warm, but it's so cold outside that I feel a bit chilly this evening.
