The depression was a very difficult time. I know the stories in my family were tough as well. It had to be difficult on him mentally to move back home and not finding work probably contributed to the escaping and drinking. Somehow I believe he will get out ofbthe doldrums so to speak when he finds a job and regains his sense of being the person he has been all along.

I love how you are telling this entire story. Hustle was probably like many men of his time. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Uh, oh. The tide has turned. Rose has been put into a tough spot. Hopefully, something good is headed Hursel's way.

Reading your entry reminds me how much things have changed. So few people read physical newspapers. Then you have a lot of coal towns that are ghost towns.

Good Evening

These were hard times for everyone.  I do believe staying home was the best plan because money was so scarce.  There was security at home.
