Pat......

Being as how my Dad never physically abused my mother I never even thought to address that subject before  marriage.    After we were married he began telling me about the abuse his father gave his mother as if it might be something  to remember.  I was  rather horrified and I told him that if he ever did one thing on purpose to hurt me in any way  (he was much bigger  and stronger) that, I would be gone and never return.  I told him that I thought too much of myself to stay and be abused.   "What if we have kids?" he asked and I said "I will leave them for you to take care of."   (I knew I would never do that but I made him believe it.)....He never ever was abusive so I guess  he believed me.

What a monster and what a monstrous time. and not that long ago and I believe there are plenty of people around that would go back to those times. keep the little woman bare foor and pregnant in the kitchen and then blame her for having too many babies to feed so that he never got ahead. Oh I better stop. I really love male company but ....

What a nightmare he put you through! I’m sorry for that. Times were different then. Thankfully now there are places of safety for women to go who suffer abuse and want to leave thr situation. May the good times in your life outweigh the times of trouble.

Sadly it is a problem to forget such cruelty. I know it still exists all over. recently I saw a courting couple and the young man suddenly punched the girl's arm. I thought that should be a warning, but I doubt if it was.🌺

I'm so sorry to hear that you endured that kind of treatment from someone who should have been your best friend. You're right though, times were very different not so many decades ago. Thankfully, karma works in mysterious ways. The indifferent patrol officer is getting his just dessert. Hopefully, the ex is as well.

Good Morning

Pat, I've been thinking about your post, so I had to come back.  I have an idea.  I think watching the school kids makes you happy, and I also think writing about the backyard squirrels puts a smile on your face.  I miss reading about them.  Here's a big hug for you.  If I were there, we'd have coffee together.

Good Morning

Pat, I'm so sorry you had to go through this in your lifetime.  I did not experience anything like this.
