Aghrhh! I lost my comment. I'll try again.
There was a place called Squaw Valley here. It is now called Palisades Tahoe. The Winter Olympics were held there but they changed the name so it would not be offensive. We lived for a very short while when first married, many moons ago, at the end of the Santa Fe Trail so I get it about where you live. The historical remnants were so interesting.Â
