The crash had to be a horrible experience for those who lost big.  I think She made the right decision to quit. It's so important to be respected in the workplace and the flirting turned my stomach, how utterly uncouth! Such a cad the man was. I hope she gets too work longer but I envision a pregnancy in her future, probably sooner than later!

It was definitely a life-altering, generation defining moment.  So many peoples' lives were upended.

I have heard that the crash was a time when thousands of people committed suicide. I suspect that Rose's job with the telephone company will end once she is with child. Only time will tell.

How bizarre. My hubby's birthday is October 29, and our anniversary is April 19th. Small world.

Re: Sea-Gypsy

I was working for the Government at Air Force Procurement when I got pg the first time and they informed me I had to retire at 7 months.  But I fooled them, I quit at 6 months and they wanted me to come back.  LOL

I am so happy to read that they didn't get caught up in the tragedy that was the crash across the globe. My fathers family had a harsh time.

Good Evening

I'm so glad they had the wedding of their dreams, and life went on without worrying about what was going on in New York.  My grandparents had a farm in West Virginia, and they were self-sufficient.  Thankfully, they said they knew nothing about what was going on with the stock market.  My great-grandfather had given them their farm, and they didn't have to worry.

Ah. I’m glad for them. Did their families come to the wedding? Thr part about no pregnant done being allowed to work resonated with me. That was still the law when I was going to have Daughter #1. The law had changed just when I had to resign and my Dad said I had a case… But suing was not in my deck of cards. I suppose I should have tried.
