Re: sam444, that is part of the beauty. We are all from all over the states

We get to learn new things from the different regions. I lived on the west coast for a long time, and I know that westerners eat a variety of foods that easterners have never tried. This is why I'm so thankful for my travel throughout the years.

There's a southern slaw I love and can rarely find: the sauce is vinegar-based rather than creamy.

I remember a meal at a Southern style restaurant in Seattle years ago, and while it was all good, the greens were the best!

That is going to be delicious I am sure.

I had never heard of this before. Very interesting. I might try some of them.

Good afternoon

Sherri, I know your New Years dinner will be delicious!  I usually make pork and sauerkraut with dumplings.

I have the same southern background. I love greens anytime. But seldom get them. Sauerkaut is too sour for me. Looks good, enjoy your New Year's Celebration.
