I admire his courage but his poor father. One tragedy after another.  I have a deep compassion for him.

I have often admired the hobo life depicted in old stories. Yet I have never sought to go out alone without some kind of plan. People are more resilient than we know. I think one of the biggest reasons is that many of us have inherited the power of survival, without even realizing it.

Hopping on a train to see the world on the cheap was once a big thing. In my neck of the woods, trains are constantly on the move from here to there. In 2018, we traveled from Pittsburgh to reno by train. It gives an entirely different view of the world than one gets by traveling by car or airplane. I hope his boarding the train led him to his happy place.
