Yes, I did remember that from school that many English words were stolen/borrowed. I didn't, however, know some of the words you shared.  Thanks for the good knowledge.

Once Sherri when the Yanks were here at a local Base. I said to a Yank  as he was pushing a pram with a baby 'Are you taking it out for an airing. I heard it remarked several times after. Another word that became used from toasting over a drink became used almost everything
