Above all, I’m happy to read they found a place free of prejudice. I’m actually happy to read this entire series. Thank you and please, do continue.

Good Evening

Wow!  I'm so glad they found a nice plot of land to live on.  The problem for me would have been the snakes.  My grandparents had an outhouse, and my aunt had one too.  I was always afraid there were snakes in them.

I am not a fan of rattlesnakes. It touched my heart that the ladies wanted an outhouse. Two times in my life I have lived with an outhouse on the premises. When I was young and our house was being built we had an outhouse. I was actually potty trained in an outhouse. Great stories on that one, lol. The second time was when my husband, at the time, and I were building our house. However, I wasn't going to do an outhouse full time and had an apartment in town. Aha!

Those were some tough times. I would have been gone at the mention of snake. 🐍

Oh wow!

and what a shock to see someone in full health drop dead like that from a snake bite.life was tough and very fragile back when.My ancestors travelled to Australia. mostly in the 1840's But I don't really know much about them. The only Grandparent who could have told me stories, wouldn't. She has become the 'Queen Mother' by the time I came along, and certainly wasn't going to admit either her actual age, or that she had been born in a tent on the Victorian Gold fields!
