Back then it was hard to come by lemons in some places so they substituted apple cider vinegar for lemons and used brown sugar instead of white and the rest of the recipe can be found on the internet...several recipes. Ollie was my grandmother and I definitely remember her making vinegar pie when she came to visit us in her old age.

Good Afternoon
This felt so real when I was reading it that I felt like I was there. The family really put together a nice spread to take to the gathering. I was wondering what a vinegar pie is? I was sorry the gathering had to end the way it did. The leftover food was ruined. I felt bad about that. At least nobody got hurt. I look forward to reading the next post.

That's one way to end a party. Your storytelling is so vivid, I could actually imagine the people all playing their part in the event. I cracked up when I read the bit about the "Sunday-go-to-meeting clothes." My Mommom used to tease my great grandmother about dressing up on Sundays for church. She used that same idiom when describing her fancy dresses adorned with a large pin.

wow!! what a night. I thought the family would make great friends and maybe stay a year or two But unfortunately or maybe fortunately in the long run the night got cut short. Rough ignorant cow pokes!!! Anyway I know you have more for us.
