The moment I left school in 19-61an Aunt by marriage started pestering me; 'Did I have a boyfriend, it was wize to start looking while I was young etc.'I wasn't even allowed out with a boy on a date until I was nearly 18. I was 16 when she started in on me!

And the plot thickens...I can't imagine that the family would have been happy with their arrangement since mixed marriages were unacceptable during that time in history. Two centuries later, people still have a fit over it. What an amazing storyteller you are. I look forward to reading more.

I had to smile when the daughter, Mary, who was nearing 19, was fearing being a spinster. My how things have changed over the years.
