Your post made me think. I've been resisting change that might just make my day-to-day life a bit safer and more comfortable. I've checked out the apartment at a senior facility, and it would be safer and better in many ways, but in this house, I know where everything is. And packing, tossing out and moving are a pain in the neck. Making peace with this is a good idea. Thank you.

I can appreciate not wanting a change in preachers. I was devastated when my pastor retired. Aside from pastor he was a dear, dear friend. But, as with your pastor he did things that made a difference as well. Not quite to the level of yours but meaningful nonetheless.
