Good Evening
I love this post. It made me think of all the recipes my family loves that I really need to write down for them. There are recipes like my spaghetti sauce and pasta salad, and my zucchini bread. I'm getting hungry thinking about this. I love banana pudding and would love to have a sample of your grandma's pudding. My Aunt Martha made the best butterscotch pie, and I wish I had her recipe.

I am sitting here grinning over this story - the secret recipe, the loss and find - the whole thing. What fun!

I love a good banana pudding. Instant pudding just isn't the same as the slow-cooked and cool method. The egg yolks used to make homemade pudding on the stove make for a richer pudding, as does adding the vanilla after the heat is turned off, so that it doesn't cook off during the cooking process. Adding vanilla to the whipped topping also adds more flavor. You will need to send me some of your grandmother's banana pudding so I can see how good it is.

My mom made an amazing cheesecake with mandarin oranges on top... I have not made it for years, but might give it a try for the coming feast.
