I would go with the honest approach.
It is funny. One time at a football tailgate someone brought brownies with green icing. I ate one only to find it was peppermint, which I do not get along with. My face was contorted as I told him how much I loved it.

.....Oh, he bought some for himself but of course adds sugar to it.  I have never done sugar or sweetener to coffee.  Can't stand sweet coffee.  I think I'll just keep it until he runs out and then be honest and offer this one to him.

You might offer him a cup. See what he thinks of it. And be honest if he asks your opinion or this might be the first of several he brings, thinking to please you.
