I've love this poem! It's really on point and quite astute. There were times when Mother had us be quiet as well.

Meal times were important in our family. We always ate properly with everyday china wear and said grace and little girls spoke if they were spoken to. Mother and dad often had important farm business to discuss.

My Dad always kept a stick under the table and said .'The first one to start anything will have it.' He never used it though.🌺
