My son served. It was the longest year of my life when he was in Afghanistan. He wasn't wounded, physically but the emotional scars of war are devastating. He's not the same person who went but l always loved his attitude, he said he did not go to kill people but to help them.

Well it was I suppose one of the happiest days of my life. So many friend's fathers did not return. 🌺

Sea_Gypsy....

All of my life I can't "Not".    I was pretty small when it was announced on the radio that WWII had ended and  out of all the houses on our street the housewives came out their doors forming a great parade banging pots and pans and pot lid symbols and shouting "The War is Over."    My mom had an old cowbell from  the old farm  and was clanging it and everyone shouting.  It really made an impression on me.
