I absolutely love your last two paragraphs here. And I offer condolences on those you have lost in this world. Take care.

I'm so sorry for your many losses, and I am happy to hear that you reconnected with your buddy. I attempted to do the same before we headed to Nevada. I wanted to catch up with some old gal pals, but unless people check their messages on Facebook, those connections can be a long time coming.

Good Morning

We are a military family too.  My husband was a Marine who was stationed in Hawaii.  I met him right after he got out of the service.  I'm so sorry about your friends.

I think being in the military band was a golden opportunity for you - the talent that makes the music so great, the lifelong buddies. There's more than one harmony going in this post. I'm sorry you lost your friend, that's never easy. Peace.

Mike.....

.....This post so reminded me of my Son Mark (Ribcage) to Blogit who was a Navy man.   Loved reading it.

Friends/family never leave us because it's like you said, they live in our memories. To this day I often think about my Uncle Will, I lived next door to him as a kid. He was the coolest uncle ever. This was well written and an enjoyable read even though there was sadness due to loss.
