Good Evening
I always had chores to do, and when I look back, I've been washing dishes for most of my life. It never bothered me, though. I've always liked a clean kitchen. I never cared for cutting grass, though.

Sometimes looking back we see just how amazing our parents were! We had chores to do but we just did them. They weren’t overwhelming and as we got older as pre-teens and teens the reward was that we got to go out, but never before the chores were done. That stayed with me a bit. Happy belated birthday to you!🌹🎉🎊🎂

Well your poor Mother had a lot to deal with and love is in short supply if one felt how she did. I don't know her history of course but my Mother told me once that she had always hard job to show love to her children because she had never been shown it as a child. 🌺

I didn't mind my chores. They were easier than homework for a while. I had to collect eggs and feed the chickens, and bring in a pail of wood chips to start the combustion oven early the next morning. Not too bad.

I understand it all too clearly now as well, but when I was a kid, I had no clue why I was given so many chores. I was a scrawny girl, so chopping wood was a real ass-kicker for me, but stepday #3 was adamant about it. He claimed that it would toughen me up.

My apologies I guess I was reading the wrong post.
I know what you mean. Many times I thought my Mother and father were so mean. Then, as I grew older, I was thankful that they were. I agree, thanks for the vinegar.

Love your post. And I actually knew the answer to the song title. The 5th Dimension. And you are right, you can catch more flies with honey. The problem is that bad habits are sometimes hard to change.
