Actually I think it might have been. Perhaps a bruised one due to the very hot weather started the rot. Your tonic sounds interesting.🌺

A good idea to hide the pears from Archie...I have never had that happen with meat.

I never saw pears turn moldy like that, but then I never had pear trees, either. I've developed a taste for peanut butter - Jif makes one variety with honey in it that's my favorite. A peanut butter sandwich and a banana make a light breakfast, and I can add a bottle of Boost (high protein drink) if I need more calories. Tastes good, quick, and no cooking or cleanup afterwards. I am not sure whether I like this because it's good or because I'm just lazy. I hope your day goes just the way you want it.

Maybe you can touch base with your doctor regarding the issue.
