It was shocking! I was in Australia, and we watched it all night. The next morning, I went to a nursery close by and bought a heap of unapologetically sweet flowering plants and popped them into the front garden. it was all I could do.

9-11 was a shocking revelation that we weren't as safe as we thought we were here in the USA. I remember Pearl Harbor was a shocker too. At that time almost every able-bodied man in the country (man: anyone over the age of 18 and under 55) was in the military. We had rationing, then. Goods needed for the war effort were in short supply - like shoe leather and the metals needed to make refrigerators - which were needed to make boots and tanks...  Thank you for your service and your well-thought-out posts.

Good Morning

I pray for peace.  I remember when the first plane went into the tower.  I was watching the news, and I couldn't understand what was going on.  I hope nothing like that happens again.

It was a day I will never forget.....

I had worked a double night shift from 3 p.m. til 7:00 a.m. Nursing Supervisor and was happily going home for some sleep before I had to go in again at 3 p.m.   But  you can imagine how much sleep I got....none.

When I woke up this morning, I was a bit concerned about today's date. You just never know when terrorists will act out with such extreme purpose. My grandfather served in WWII. I recently watched a movie about Pearl Harbor that was a true story. War is such a senseless act, but as long as there are differences of opinion between people and countries, there will be conflicts. Sad.
