The early settlers around the Great Salt Lake thought it was a miracle when gulls showed up to feast on the locusts swarming and devouring the crops. I always figured they just followed the locusts across country, and never left: I've seen gulls down along I-70 south of Salt Lake City, and in Colorado for that matter, too!

A beautiful picture and, yes in, Canada, where Ontario is landlocked, we had thousands of seagulls, They enjoyed all the rivers and lakes.
