Clutter has a way of multiplying on its own. Anyone who can figure out how that process works deserves a Nobel Prize.

The older I get the more I value open space over stuff, no matter how interesting or potentially useful it may be!

I seem to need a certain amount of clutter, but from time to time I pack a box or a bag with excess stuff and haul it to the thrift store. One woman's clutter is another's necessity.

Re: Kabu......
.....Yes, there are hard times that definitely are not the norm and I'm sorry you are going through one of those. And no one is perfect anyway, even in good times.

I am not spic and span tidy, but Jim is a mess. I had the house nicely sorted out, then Jim became very unwell.

Sherri....Your hubby sounds like mine was. But he at least he kept his clutter to the basement, the attic and the top drawer of his dresser and the garage which he built for that.

Lol. All three of my daughters are clutter bugs. My husband is a clutter monster and a pack rat from way back when. His shed is unorganized chaos at best, and his shelf above his clothes closet is packed with God knows what. I, on the other hand, cannot live in a world with clutter. My desk, cupboards, drawers, and closets are all organized. My clothes are even hung by color. This comes from living with OCD.
