What a sweet baby bear in your picture. And again, in Canada, we had a black bear come through each summer. He would leave his mark from his claws on different trees. About 8 feet high.

I always thought the Smokey the Bear ads were smart and memorable. I lived in a village at the edge of deep forests and we were always conscious of fire danger. Our burning barrel was covered with a screen to keep sparks from flying and set in the middle of a dirt & gravel patch. Rule #1 was to keep an eye on it and douse it with the hose before leaving the area. Love the stories where cubs and other wildlife are saved from fires.
