Re: PAT
Eek! I have come up against rats in the old days. The trouble is folk feed the birds on bird tables and rats climb up at night for supper. 🌺

Re: Ciel
IT does take a while but show a cat a bit of kindness and it will soon cotton on. The trouble is once they look well fed they seem to find another home even if it is not permanent. 🌺

Re: FS
Yes I remember a farmers wife grumbling at two small children who were splashing water out of a deep dish.' Don't do that' she shouted,'Grampy wants that to drown the rats.'Â Â

Some farmers and factories will use working cats, which are feral cats. They are used to control the rodent population. The farmer/factory gets the benefit of no rodents while the feral cat gets indoor shelter and a steady food supply.

The sad times are inevitable, I guess, but the wheel turns and we get used to changes. I'm sorry you've been going through them, anyway.
There never seems a lack of community cats. I still get the occasional visit from the Big Orange Cat who has been around for years.Â

I, too, prefer cats to a slinking rat. I admire kitties because they are so dignified.Â
