Re: FSI, they are supposedly a cross between a cabbage and a turnip.

Rutabagas have a thick skin. They are also as hard to cut as some squash, and even though they taste alright, they are definitely not a replacement for potatoes.

I had never heard of them. They look like a cross between potatoes and onions.

I have always loved the name of that vegetable, Rutebega. Like you, I have never tasted any. Looking forward to your review. It looks like a baby potato.
