Mother used to have a wonderful collection of old photos, and big sis and I would go through them and ask questions, perhaps on a hot day during the summer holidays. When Mother had Alzheimer's disease, she burned a pile of them, and Big sis rescued the rest and kept them.

Old photos are the best. Those old covered wagons were certainly the worst when traveling across the country. I imagine they were hard on the backside, but there was no other way to travel back then, besides horse, mule, oxen, or on foot. We still have a few of those covered wagons in my neck of the woods. One is similar to the one you described with the shed, resembling a gypsy wagon. Keep your family tales coming. They are an interesting read.
