Re: BearcatMike,

I've been so impressed and educated by some excellent documentaries! A child of the 50s, I knew of the Dustbowl, heard of it at school, but it was watching Ken Burns' documentary  that finally brought home what a catastrophe it was.

First of all, I applaud your initiative for the program. I pray that it is accepted. Many times I have felt like an alien, because I love documentaries. They keep the truth alive. I don't blame him for not taking the meds. My parents taught me to be wary of addictive meds. Keep up the good work.

Re: Pat_B,

Since she is an actual teacher, she can also get the word out with her colleagues to invite kids.

Re: Sherri_G,

The brother of one of Charlie's childhood friends overdosed on oxycodone after dental work. He died sitting in a corner and his housemates didn't want to notice because they didn't want to deal with cops coming into their house, so they ignored him for some hours. That and because he's smart affects his decision-making regarding such stuff.

He reports this morning that the crisis has passed.

I love this idea - it should be a great experience for the kids and for you teachers as well. The young ones help us see with fresh eyes. Who knows, maybe this idea will catch on and spread... fingers crossed.

I love your innovative idea. Children should be taught diversity at an early age, and they should understand that not all adults are good or right, especially world leaders who are racist womanizers who don't care about the people or laws. I hope Charlie feels better. We avoid oxycodone in favor of ibuprofen after our dental appointments. That addictive crap is prescribed way too often.
