Fascinating!

Uk has some vastly different Englishes across the countryside. Patrick Steward, on a talk show, was displaying the way he spoke as a child and was totally incomprehensible! I think he was raised in North Yorkshire.

I receive many compliments on my accent. Yes, it is very Australian but with a pronounced English sound, originating from South Australia, which isn't quite the same as, say, New South Wales. Jim says tomAto, I say 'Tomarto' {Grammarly is having a fit. LOL>

A few years ago, I went to Dallas and stopped at a fast food joint. When I said the word tomato, the cashier said, "I love your accent."
