.....I'm still here this morning but I know nothing of any that stuff you wrote about. I haven't kept up with modern day advances and my Son and his family in
Florida are very busy right now. If I bother DIL right now she will just want to buy me another computer and send it to me. If I disappear off of Blogit just bury me under the old oak tree and remember me once in a while. LOL

Your companion might just need updates downloaded and installed. My PC is old, but I clean it daily, defrag it weekly, run malware and spyware removers, remove cookies, and check for updates. Some days it runs slow, but after I restart and do all of the system checks, it is back to running smoothly again. You also may have processes running in your start-up that need to be disabled or uninstalled. Have your DIL run a maintenance check and a 64-bit safety scanner check. The ending of Windows 10 in October is a huge part of the problem if you have a system that does not have the hardware requirements to download, install, and run Windows 11. You can always keep your keyboard, monitor, and mouse. Just replace the modem. They are fairly inexpensive. Good luck to you.
