John and I are both 60, and we still mow our lawn weekly, along with trimming the hedges and weed-eating. As long as I can tend to my yard, I will, even though some weeks my body says, Not today. We just have to keep on keeping on and eat that elephant one bite at a time. 🐘

When I first arrived here Jim had just given up his yard mowing and was paying someone to do it. I paid a different guy to pull out some old plants and put down pebbles and slabs for big pots to go. These last year and this year stuff is growing through the pebbles and we have given up on the back yard except for the mower to come trough as needed and do front and back. There are bushes and trees both back and front and it all looks decent . last year i had a pot garden out back but didn't really enjoy it except to water. This year, smaller and at the front door. I am happy.
