English strawberries, so big so delicious. I remember buying them from a stand along the road. The time i am thinking of they were described as cooking or jam making berries. Well we bought a huge bag of them and they were delicious just washed and the green removed at the stem. Yum we pigged out on them for days.

Re: Sherri
I guess we were more immune in those days. The old saying ,'One has to. eat a peck of dirt before one dies.'

Re: Pat
Well Pat we used to have strawberry fields nearby but a\ lot are now grown off ground in plastic. Field grown and taste buds. I remember a chap took his three children strawberry' He told them to eat as many as they liked ,but not to dare ask for any when they returned home.🌷

Re: Ciel
I think ours were white because some pots were thin and the sun bleached them.🌷

Good Morning
I love strawberries! I've seen different-colored carrots, but I always buy the orange ones. I don't think I've seen white ones, though. It's going to be quite chilly here again today. I hope you have a good day. We haven't seen the sun in days. It is supposed to warm up next week.

I get carrots of various colors. The one I like best is dark red and when sliced, there's a gold ring in the center. There are white ones, though more cream yellow than white.Â

In the Salkum Valley near my home when I was in high school, there were several commercial farms, including one who grew strawberries. He hired locals - mostly highschoolers on summer break - to pick them. I think we earned 5 cents a quart. They are delicious right off the vine.Â

A little bit of dirt never hurt anybody. I have eaten a strawberry straight from the garden. I have seen purple carrots, but not white ones; only the parsnips, which resemble carrots. 🥕
