It seems so weird now that anything we need can be ordered on the computer and received in a day or two, after reading about the delivery of home goods of all kinds was so hands-on and took so much time and effort. Of course, the benefit was in knowing the people on the route as friends and neighbors, a much more human experience, than typing a few code words. Thank you for this glimpse into another time.

We used to have Jack Langy come around two or three times a year with his big caravan pulled behind he truck. There was treasure in that Van. Work clothes for Father, aprons for Mother cardigans and jumpers for us all. On occasion, a pretty dress or petticoat for someone, and of course undies for us all. Tea towels, bed linen, and Australian wool Blankets.
