The only thing that grosses me out about swamps is the mosquitos and snakes that hang out in them. The aquatic plants in swamps help frogs, turtles, marsh rabbits, fish, birds, reptiles, and endangered species stay camouflaged so they can hunt for their prey. We have quite a few swamps in my area, which are used by farmers who rely on them during heavy rains for their runoff water. The deer hang out by the swamps for food and drinks and to hide in the heavy plant life from predators and hunters.
