Our town has an ordinance against keeping chickens - roosters crow before dawn and some city folk just do not appreciate their next-doors having livestock, even small, feathered ones. You already know how to tend chickens, so if you can and want to, why not? I'm guessing this bird flu will pass before long & egg prices will go back down.

I am considering buying a little dog house and putting heating pads on the walls and old rugs and getting three chickens. We have a dog run here not being used so they could have lots of freedom.

A dozen eggs in my neck of the woods are still under $5.00, but my mom paid $9.67 for a dozen in Carson City, Nevada a few weeks ago.
