Mother would never buy us Comic books.. she wanted cute little ladies!!. Our older male cousins in Adelaide would buy mickey mouse and Donald duck etc. and had a big pile for us when we visited. These cousins lived in the same big house with their Mother and our grandma. They knew it was pretty boring for us so they bought comics for us girls to read and pass the time.

Yes we had comic from an early age Chicks Own. and Tiny tots. Dandy Desperate Dan who  could eat the best part of a cow. Pansy Potter The toughest gal on the scene. Lord Snooty and his gang  In The Beano. Billy Bunter the fattest boy on earth In the Dandy. I just remember Rover as we grew. I never see any interest in them now, but I think we are 20 years forward in the antique possessions. One can hardly give bric-a-brac away. I would give you a warming pan if you were nearer. It needs polishing.

Comic books have been the rage for several generations of readers. MAD magazine was another popular go-to back in the day. The magazine I read regularly as a teenager was Tiger Beat. As I got older, I preferred the True Story magazine filled with confessional love stories. The 80s pop culture resurged comic books, sending the prices for vintage magazines into the stratosphere. Thanks for taking me on a trip down memory lane. Regular smile
