- Go to On The Coldest Day Of The Year...
Winter has already made its presence known to us all this year. I hope you get a backup heater, just in case. I remember how cold our house used to get growing up. We put on more clothes and added more quilts to our bed.

Re: Pat....LOL
How could I forget that. I hated it. We often ran out of toilet paper and Mom would cut the newspaper into squares and stack them there.

Actually, This Morning.....
I moved the heater to a different location, different outlet, and it is working fine. I'm going to have to contact the maintenance man to see if the other outlet needs rejuvenation.

We had a wood burning stove in the kitchen, and an oil burning heater in the living room in our little rustic place near the woods. The most chill-inducing chore was that inevitable trip to the outhouse, which was not heated.

My hubby and his five siblings fought over the heater vent as kids. Coal was a huge source of heat in Pennsylvania in the '60s and '70s. It looks like it's time to purchase a new heat source to keep your legs warm. I wrap mine up in one of the many throws I keep in our living room. The softer and fluffier the better.

One must keep warm, although it tends to make one feel sleepy.
We are lucky here a man will take all metal objects and he has a disposal
point waiting for him to take a washing machine and several old heaters.
Keep in the warm.😊😊

Comment from Sis who is not on Blogit but I sent it to her:
Thanks to your reminiscences, I'm recalling so clearly how important it was to "get on the register first" at 4412 on the bitterly cold winter mornings.
