- Go to The Christmas Tree
Pat.....
.....That's one thing I have never done in my whole life--chopped down my own Christmas tree. I think I've missed out on something. It was fun though for us to go to a lot where they were selling Christmas trees already cut down and pick out the one we wanted and cart it home. It was always exciting for us.

and we were happy kids in the fifties, not knowing what city kids were doing, hardly ever going there to look. Gram. used to come over to see her sons, spending a week with each of the 5 of them.

I think most country folk would chop a tree down or pull one up with the aid of a spade.
I don't think that liberty is available these days. We always replanted ours , although only the odd one grew. 🌺

The school's Christmas programs have always been one of my favorite events during the holiday season. I once participated, then my daughters, and now my grandchildren entertain us with their talents. We had the pleasure of attending our grandson's Christmas concert last night. They played everything from 150-year-old music to popular holiday tunes. 📯
