I have never had to be hungry in my life. I was blessed with a small appetite but the food was always there, always available.

I suppose manna was a life saver. One has to feel around the shelves for a nonexistent crust of bread. That was life for my Mother when her husband was killed 1914- 1918 war. the kids ate leaves andย robbed the cow feeding troughs. No money came through for weeks. A man told me her ate his dinner going to work and then had to eat a swede or anything he could find in the fields as he walked to work. Now we do have food banks, but I do think a lot of money is spent on other things. Thank you for a nice write.ย

We are truly blessed. Like you, I grew up with a surplus of fresh fruits and vegetables available to me simply by picking or digging them up. Thanks for the reminder. ๐๐๐
