- Go to Food For Life Chapter 2
Your post is a real eye-opener. Food is not something I wake up thinking about, but my hubby is a foodie who makes it hard for me to stay slim. I am always preparing something he is craving. Thankfully, I'm not much of a meat eater, so I usually don't eat what I prepare unless it is pizza. We are a wasteful society and many people go without a good meal. Awareness is important. Thanks for sharing a great reminder. Happy Thanksgiving.

This Post Reminded Me Of.....
.....my hard working parents. My Dad had a good job but for a family with seven children the money went quickly. So he also had a really big vegetable garden every year and my Mom processed everything by canning, making pickles, making saurkraut out of the cabbages, etc. Dad fished, hunted, raised chickens, and Mom cooked everything. In spite of them working so hard, they were also wonderfully loving and fun parents. They went through the big depression just after they were married.

It is a fact folk appear to be caught in a price increase and many now go to food banks .
Of course it is all relative once money was spent almost entirely on food.
My mother told me that she often felt around the shelves in the larder lest there was an odd bit of bread left, which was not often.
