We used to have bonfires when we were younger. They are a fun way to eliminate trash and roast wieners and marshmallows while enjoying outdoor heat on a fall evening. 🔥

Re Taps....
Nov. 5. Guy Fawkes was discovered trying to blow up the Houses of Parliament.
I guess something horrible happened to him, each year folk burn an effigy of the poor chap on bonfires. I burn old receipts and private stuff when it is raining usually as fires are apt to
drift smut onto washing lines, but we can have a biggy Nov 5.Â

One of my neighbors has a fire pit just about every weekend. A lot of people come to it...I see a lot of solar farms these days. It does look lucrative.

Chiff-Chaff.....
.....Why is Nov 5 a burning day?
Here Son Stephen can burn anytime that it is a not a non-burning day because of wind.  He is ok'd by the fire department because he has a proper burning place, plenty of room away from neighbors and no trees close.  He does not burn often. Mostly he takes stuff to the city burn place/dump where you have to pay per amount.

The govt is pushing the use of solar panels here, too. I think if more people had them it might reduce the demand for electricity off the coal-powered plants and bring down the pace of global warming. The ads here also claim the monthly electric bills would be much lower. Â
