- Go to HALLOWEEN IN THE OLDEN DAYS
I have not had one caller for years, I think most have forgotten the ritual. Not even a carol singer at Christmas.🌺

Unfortunately we hardly see a child at the door, most go to parties. it isn't something Australians do at all; altho. teenagers have parties.

Good Afternoon
Pat, Great post! Halloween has changed over the years. Our village has a trick-or-treat party for the kids. Our houses are too far apart. I used to love having kids come to the door in their costumes. It's not safe for the children now. Â

Halloween was so much different back in the day. Then sometime in the 1970s, apples containing razor blades were being reported. We only get a few kids on our street, but we give a dollar to the brave ones who knock at our door on the spookiest night of the year. As for the grouchy neighbor from your childhood, the black clothes, fedora, and the gun would have made me steer clear of the old guy. 😱

Oh, you reminded me how there was alway that one house we skipped on Halloween night. Good post. Thank you. I’d forgotten about that.Â
